Diese 10inch LP Reproduktion einer im Original in Neuseeland erschienen Julia Lee 25cm-Schallplatte, die Capitol Records dort in ebenfalls limitierter Auflage im Jahre 1950 veröffentlichte und heute extrem schwer zu finden ist, tritt den Beweis an, dass selbst auf dem entlegenen Inseln in der Tasmanischen See amerikanische Musik hoch geschätzt wurde. 1950, der 2. Weltkrieg war erst seit 5 Jahren aus und die Welt war mit dem Wiederaufbau beschäftigt. Amerika konnte sich voll auf die Produktion von Unterhaltung konzentrieren, denn das Land war nicht zerstört worden und das Potenzial war vorhanden. Die nicht nur in den besetzten Gebieten agierenden amerikanischen Soldaten, sie unterhielten damals auch Stützpunkte in Neuseeland, brachten amerikanische Kultur mit, so auch die Musik und Julia Lee. Auch 1950 litt die Welt noch unter einem nie dagewesenen ‚Burnout‘ im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes und lechzte förmlich nach Unterhaltung. Da kam Julia Lees Platte ‚Party Time‘ zum richtigen Zeitpunkt und beglückte nicht nur die in Neuseeland stationierten GIs!

Limited to 1000 copies, the first 500 copies in color vinyl This is a reproduction of a 10inch Julia Lee album originally released in New Zealand in 1950 by Capitol Records. It’s hard to believe but this album is the best argument that American music was highly evaluated even on the far away islands in the Tasmanian Sea. It was the year 1950, only five years after World War II came to an end, and the world was still busy with its reconstruction and development. America was not destroyed by war, except for Pearl Harbor, and was able to be fully concentrate on the production of entertainment. American soldiers had bases all over the world, not only in occupied countries. They had bases even on the New Zealand islands resulting from their ‚island hopping‘ during the Pacific campaign. Those soldiers brought American culture, American music, and of course Julia Lee! The world still suffered from an unprecedented ‚Burnout‘ in the truest sense of the word and was also hungry for entertainment. Julia Lee’s record ‚Party Time‘ was at its place at the right time and made GIs and Kiwis happy!
