The annual Grammy awards are honoring the best music releases of the year. The Grammies are the most important music awards. For the 2015 Grammies, the jury has nominated two releases on Bear Family:
Black Europe, Bear Family’s 48-CD boxed set, accompanied by two(!) hardbound books, covering the history of black music in Europe from the late 19th century until 1927. This monumental release was compiled and edited by Dr. Rainer Lotz, a German historian and music researcher, the work of a lifetime.
The Other Side Of Bakersfield. On two single CDs, each disc accompanied by a massive, beautifully illustrated booklet, music expert Scott B. Bomar presents the story on the Bakersfield artists and labels who embraced rock ’n‘ roll on their way to a new kind of country sound.
