"TRUCK3VS54e3001c5d26a_720x600"2-CD Digipac (6-plated) with comprehensive booklet, 38 tracks.

Bear Family’s exploration of Country Rock 1966 – 1975 continues with music from 1970 and 1971! Sales have been strong and critical response has been overwhelming to Volumes 1 & 2. Now the story continues with Volumes 3 & 4. The mix is as before: big hits and neglected classics that tell the story of a musical genre. Double CDs and generously full booklets with complete song-by-song notes, rare photos, and first-person accounts.

Volume 3 — 1970: This was the year that The Band was on the cover of ‚Time‘ magazine, and Country Rock was recognized as a distinct category. Artists include the Allman Brothers, the Grateful Dead, Delaney & Bonnie, the Flying Burrito Brothers, Jefferson Airplane, Poco, Linda Ronstadt, Janis Joplin, and the now legendary Townes Van Zandt. As a bonus track, we have included a previously unissued recording by Townes Van Zandt from 1970. This is what fans across the world have come to expect from Bear Family: genre-defining compilations, generously full CDs, in-depth notes, rare photos, and complete discographies. In short, a 360 degree musical experience. So spray some patchouli oil, light up an exotic cigarette (where it’s legal to do so, of course) and venture back to the late hippie era. From Los Angeles‘ vertiginous canyons to London’s Marble Arch, the story is here!
